Christmas

Christmas always gets me warm and cozy when it comes-

there are moments when the fire is smoldering, and the room is only lit by the soft glow of Christmas lights-
when the music is low and the tree is glinting- when im surrounded by good friends and family
when there's hot food on the table
and not a word to be said
-only smiles

and I have to thank Jesus for the creation of such a wonderful holiday. I couldn't even begin to think of a better one on my own.

it's the one time of year I actually like traditions (which is saying a lot for me!).

The meaning for Christmas is quiet and unexpected- which makes it all the more wonderful-

That roughly two thousand years ago, Mary, a young unwed mother gave birth to her firstborn son, wrapped him in rags and laid him in a manger, because she had nowhere else to go.

That night, the angels first sang to us,
"Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be for all people.
For unto you is born your Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Find your nearest manger scene and really take a good look.

What do you see?

Mary.

Joseph.

and a little babe lying there in the hay.

When you see this, go tell everyone about this child, Jesus.

-That after many years of silence in our lives,
God came to us.

Completely in our mercy, as a baby.

-His first words, a tiny cry.

-His first miracle, a single breath.

He is Immanuel.
God with us.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
