Something for Everyone!

A thought came to me the other day that maybe perhaps the reason for the series of dramatic shifts in American culture, especially within traditional evangelical Christianity- with it's empty churches, dwindling societal presence and bewildered followers is because Christianity as we know it in America is like a branch now which is barren and without fruit.

And every branch that does not bear fruit is cast into the fire.

But while Christianity as we know it in America may wither and fade, living in love with Jesus never will. And perhaps it is best that these old things pass, so that new, better tomorrows can come. Somehow, somehow- we really are better with less religion and more of simple people- stripped of money, and entitlement and nice, easy jobs- who love and follow God- loving their neighbors as they love themselves. I think that's the sort of America I would want to live in anyways.
